The best way to keep your readers loyal to your site is to get them interested in what you have to say and keep them asking for more. With a few simple tricks, you can create a following and prove to your readers that your site is the only site that they need to visit.
Blog viewers enjoy consistency. They like to read information that you post on your site, but they also like to read posts that have a recurring theme.
Make readers come back for more by leaving them with a cliff hanger. Like all great writers, it’s important to entice your audience and give them a reason to keep reading, the same is true for blogs. Pick one day a week when you revisit the same topic as the last week. For example if you own a writing site, then every Monday post a fiction article while choosing Wednesday for important writer updates. Give as much information in each post just like you normally do, but give them a little taste of what they can see next week.
Don’t give your readers a reason to go to other sites to find information that they could get from your site. You want your readers to stay loyal to you and your blog. To do this you have to check out the competition. What are your competitors saying? Are there topics that they are covering that you should be? Are there topics that are important but there aren’t any sites that are talking about it?
See what other sites have to say about the topic that you are talking about. Read their articles and strive to make your content better. You want to be at the top of your game and blow the competition out of the water.
Ask around. Ask your friends (who actually read your blog), family, or even random site views what they think. Find out what they like to read about and what they would like to see more of. You can also add a poll to your site that gives readers an opportunity to voice their opinions while giving you valuable feedback. There are a lot of widgets that allow you to create polls for free and the benefits you receive are immediate.
Creating a following takes a lot of work and dedication, but if you stay on top of the industry your blog will flourish and expand.

Great tips. I think looking at other blogs/articles and choosing a new angle that was only briefly addressed and expounding on it in your blog can be quite helpful. It allows readers in that niche to get more details they otherwise would have missed.
