Being able to schedule a tweet in advance can really come in handy for various reasons. Maybe you might need to send yourself reminders or want to schedule birthday or holiday greetings in advance, so you don’t forget. Many also use tweet schedulers to promote products and affiliates or to help them monetize Twitter. Whatever the case may be, it’s good to have an easy to use, reliable service that you can depend on. So, here are five tools that can do the job for you.
Tweet-U-Later lets you schedule tweets as far advance as you want (days, weeks, months or years). After the quick registration, you’ll then have to give them access to your account via Twitter OAuth. You’ll also get an email where you can you send tweets via email if you prefer. Your email should be formatted like this in order to schedule via email: Your message goes here;YYYY-MM-DD@HH:MM. You can also schedule DMs as well as view pending tweets – in case you need to edit it or just for reference.
Schedule Twitter Posts lets you save and schedule a certain amount of tweets dependent on your account type. Again, you’ll need to register and then connect your Twitter account via Twitter OAuth. With a free account you can schedule up to 5 tweets which must be at least 4 hours apart. With a Pro account ($19.95/month) you can schedule up to 100 tweets which must be at least 30 minutes apart. With a Premium account ($29.95/month) you can schedule up to 1000 tweets which must be at least 5 minutes apart. There’s also an option to upload tweets by the bulk – of course you’ll need a Pro or Premium account for that.
Twaitter offers a few other features in addition to tweet scheduling. They also provide you with a Twitter calendar, a multi-user management system and RSS to Twitter management. Just like Tweet-U-Later, you can schedule tweets in advance and recurring on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. Unfortunately Twaitter doesn’t utilize Twitter OAuth, which is bad for Twitter health! So, I didn’t get a chance to try it out. So, please share if you’ve used it!
HootSuite is my favorite tool not only for scheduling tweets, but also for managing my Twitter accounts. You’ll need to sign up for an account and then add your Twitter accounts. Now HootSuite doesn’t use Twitter OAuth but, it’s a site that I trust. You can schedule tweets in advance and even choose to receive an email when that tweet has gone out. If you have more than one Twitter account, you can schedule a tweet to post on more than one account at once. You can schedule as far in advance as you like but so far there isn’t a way to schedule recurring tweets.
TwittOnTime displays a calendar for each month and lets you schedule tweets by clicking on the date on the calendar. You will have to sign in via Twitter OAuth and then select your time zone. After that you just navigate to the calendar month you need and then click on a date. A window will pop-up and let you enter your message and the time you’d like it to be posted. It’s very simple yet it seems to be in another language (as you can see below).

Which tool (if any) do you use to schedule your tweets?

Thanks for the tips. I will be sure to check them all out. I currently use socialoomph.com (aka tweetlater.com). It has never let me down and its easy to use too.
I was just wondering how to monetize tweeter. It seems that I have a large amount of followers but had no idea how to monetize it.
But this has changed now and I hope by following your tips I will succeed.
Hey Rok, did you check out this post –> 7 Legit Ways To Make Money On Twitter. Hopefully it will help and get you started!
In addition there's also now Sponsored Tweets and TwtMob. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the tips! I work as a social media specialist for my organization and often if I am working on other projects, out of the office or sick, our twitter account is not maintained. I will share these tips with my co-workers gladly. Thanks again for the great advice. I love your blog.
I use Hoot Suite. Love it: http://www.hootsuite.com.
I started using Hoot Suite today for time management. I loved the automatic tweet feature. The only concern, I could not track verification on my google analytics. Hoot Suite was confirming a specific number on their stats but when I checked my campaign for the day the numbers did not match up. Did anyone else have similar issues or can give me advice on this?
Thanks!

That sounds like a lot of great tools to use on twitter
Thanks for the tips – I will definitely share your twitter tools with others – I believe you don't have to be everywhere all the time in social media, but to look like a rock star, you gotta have the tools!
This is great. Given the nature of my beginnerblogger twitter account I like to schedule 3 tips a day. At the moment I use hootsuite – absolutely love it but it gets a bit tiring using the drop downs to select the date (this is a very very minor and greedy annoyance
)
By the looks of it TwittOnTime seems to let you be able to select the date on a calendar rather than using the drop down making scheduled tweeting a bit better. I'll definitely check it out anyway
Hi,
I also wanted to tell you about a new option (a 6th way!) to schedule tweets.

Hope this is helpful!

I’ve tried all of the above and TwAitter is definitely the easiest to use with the most features!
Steve

Hi Charnita. Great post, let me share with you a new tweet scheduling tool that is very different from the above described. It is called http://bufferapp.com and way more intuitive. You just add tweets, no hassles of time setting, no scheduling. The app does that for you. So still scheduled tweets. Let me know if you have any thoughts
