A New Way To Retweet Blog Posts

Posted by on 21st Aug 2009 Social Media 9 comments

RetweetIf you are viewing BloggingTips online, you will see a retweet button at the top left hand side of every blog post. This button allows you to retweet BloggingTips articles using the website TweetMeMe. Retweeting is incredibly popular so it was only a matter of time before someone tried to challenge the popularity of TweetMeMe. Step forward Retweet.com.

Retweet.com is brought to you by MesiabLabs, the company which produces Twitter HummingBird. Design wise, Retweet.com looks the same as TweetMeMe and works the same way.

They are clearly trying to capitalise on the strength of the Retweet domain. Lorenz Sell emphasises this in one of their launch videos (see below) by claiming that Retweet.com is the ‘Real’ way to retweet posts, an obvious reference to TweetMeMe.

In order to get their name around the blogosphere, they are giving away $10,000 to one lucky blogger if they reach 1 million visitors in 30 days.

You may want to consider using Retweet.com for a chance to win $10,000. However, I personally see no reason to stop using TweetMeMe. It has always worked great for me, has a much larger audience and more importantly, ReTweet.com doesn’t seem to do anything that TweetMeMe already does.
