Are you creatively inspired or inspired by creativity?

crayonsSay that again?
Let us look at the title in detail, are you the kind of person that is inspired by what you do or what is around you or are you inspired by others creativity?
Are you the sort to draw on yourself for creative inspiration or do you need to be drawn out by other people’s creativity?

Do you need to inspire yourself by reading other people’s blogs for example or are you burning with ideas on what to write?

How do you let your creativity decide what you do on your blog?

Are you someone who likes to be inspired to write or are you the type to plan out the blog for the next month in advance or are you the kind of person who likes to talk about things that are on topic?

Sorry for all the questions but they are all relevant. Hopefully you get the idea and with all those questions you are now thinking about the type of person you are and know how you think.

I myself have a bit of both sides. While I can come up with many ideas and I love to be creative both in design and in technical detail I am very much inspired by what is around me and what I read. Where I work can alter my ideas and creativity so some times working in a different location can give me a breath of fresh air towards my work and I can become much more open to ideas.

Most people generally think about creativity as doing well in art and music. However, Creativity in my opinion is a surge, a burst of imagination and new ideas or your own unique interpretation. This comes from within your inner Being and further to this is the creativity in turning this surge into a reality.

To increase the ideas you come up with you need be in a state of mind that allows your thoughts and ideas to flow. I know this might sound a little crazy and a bit hippy like but you need to have a way of inspiring yourself.

I have a list of bookmarked sites I keep updated on that can give me ideas on what to write or how to design something or how I may go about my next website build. Along with the websites that I keep up to date with i also inspire myself by reading lots of books, subscribing to a few magazines that keep up to date on the latest happenings on the web and I try and take my camera out to take a few shots when I can to get the creative juices flowing especially on a sunny day.

These sound pretty standard methods do you do anything out of the ordinary to keep up to date or to inspire yourself?

I am a web designer / developer based in the South of England. I build websites using WordPress and I also create Flash games amongst other things. I love being innovative in both design and in code.

I'm inspired by others creativity. It gets my mind thinking and evolving their creativity to something bigger and better.

Do you have any examples of inspiration?

Similar you, I have a bit of both sides. I just have no organization very much, but I can handle this.

Thanks, Lee. Great thoughts about the creative process.

Lately I have been learning three foreign languages concurrently (Arabic, Mandarin & French) in my spare time. This had been a huge source of creative thinking and productive ideas generation for me.

Sounds whacky but has had many unexpected benefits.

    Best, Robin

Thank you for your comment, learning three languages must of been tough i would love to learn a new language. You certainly chose two of the hardest ones to learn! Doing something new and that challenges you brings out your inner self and you can express yourself much more i find.

I'd say both. But I guess my prominent side is being inspired by creativity. For example, love checking out innovative wordpress designer galleries. Some of the really good ones makes me envious, (how did they turn out so great?!?!?). Those kids of visits are beneficial, keeps my mind constantly energized :)

When it comes to writing fiction I draw inspiration from my own mind. When it comes to writing a blog post, or a hubpage, or squidoo lens I get inspiration from outside sources. Other blogs, news, magazines, etc.
