I have used the story telling technique to introduce a post, and every single time that I do, comments always flood in! I was so amazed the first time I discovered it. I use it at least once a week for variation's sake.

Great advise. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our topic that we forget that visitors aren't there to read a math equation, or science formula but they come to hear a distinct voice.

yes, great post, conflict and make it personal. to get a connection with reader (viewer) makes a lasting impression. if you get great to their hearts, you're set! so, write from your heart and be true to who you are.

I'm definitely going to try to tell a story on my blog now. This is great advice and you make a great case for it.
