Thank you for the post, Jonathan. You’ve covered some great points that many out there never think about.

That said, it continues to baffle me that in this day and age people still can’t figure out how to comment properly, particularly given that many blogs now post rules and guidelines for making those comments.

I guess the never-ending battle to keep commenters in check goes on . . .

I moderate the first comment from each user, Akismet does the rest, I haven’t had one spam comment go through.

Wallace, Alex King has a WordPress plugin called Delink Comment Author that takes care of that, if you are on WordPress.

i hate someone leave his/her site’s link on the comment at the same time, as everyone already know where you come from by clicking your name.

You know what kind of comment I would like? The WordPress plugin to have you follow the comments on a post that you commented on should gives you the ability of letting you know only when people reply to your post as oppose to follow all comments. At least for me…
