Tweetpkr is a very simple tool that lets you quickly and easily view your friends Twitter updates. The best thing about this is that it only takes the click of a button and can be used from anywhere on the Web. Wondering how? Well, Tweetpkr is a simple bookmarklet that opens up your friends timeline when clicked. Currently, Tweetpkr can be used in Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome and Internet Explorer (7 and 8).
You will need to enter your Twitter username and password in order to create your custom bookmarklet. Once you drag it to wherever you like on your toolbar, just click on it to get started. Tweetpkr will then show up on the left side of your page. There is even a place to update your status. To close it out, simply click on close or press the esc key.

You’ll only be able to see 20 updates by default, but you can click on “more” at the bottom to load more. For now, you can only reply to tweets but direct message support is coming soon. To reply to a tweet you can just click on reply (at the the bottom of the user info); it’s extremely quick and easy to do.
Tweetpkr also supports the use of multiple Twitter accounts, which comes in handy for those like me who may have separate business and personal accounts. Also remember that Tweetpkr is not a sidebar so, it will not follow you from page to page. You will have to reopen it every time you load a new page or switch tabs.
So, if you’re looking for something lightweight and requires no type of download to use, Tweetpkr may be just what you’re looking for.

I think I will stick to desktop twitter gadgets, as they serve the same purpose….
