A few BloggingTips Twitter Followers have commented that the site has been down for them at one point or another. Unfortunately, this aways seems to happen when I’m sleeping so it has been difficult for me to see what is wrong.
I have spoke to my host about this and they can’t see anything which suggests that the site is down. Therefore I would really appreciate some feedback from you all.
If BloggingTips has been down at any point in the last few months for you can please leave a comment and let me know :
I apologise to those who have been unable to view the site at any time. Rest assured, it’s something that I will do my best to resolve. Again, I really appreciate any feedback that will help fix any errors that are occuring.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi! this could be due to DNS Resolution problems.. try to know which ISP are people using, when they can’t reach your site.. Good luck with that!
Yes in fact your site has been down several times since last spring. I’m a feed reader but I want to visit your site once in a while.
I think this first happened to me March 30, I don’t know the exact time. The thing is, while the site was down for me it was up in some other network I don’t know the location of. I changed my IP and got through to your site. It took many hours before I could use my own IP.
I’m located in Iceland.
Good of you to notice this Kevin.
Sometimes for me, bloggingtips will not load. I have to refresh to get the page to load.
Like today it took over 50 seconds to load this page.
A number times it will return a 404 and it’s ok when I refresh the page.
Yess, the site was down on sunday for more than 4 hours for me…
thanks for all the feedback guys. I definately think a users isp could be an issue as I have never experienced downtime myself, not at home or when abroad.
As Daniel suggested, could users let us know what ISP you use (internet service provider)
UPDATE :
My host has explained that what they really need is the results from a traceroute from your computer to bloggingtips.
To run a traceroute in windows all you need to do ibring up the command prompt by typing CMD in the RUN area.
Once at the command prompt, you need to enter
tracert http://www.bloggingtips.com
You then need to copy and paste the results here.
Once again, I appreciate everyone for helping me with this. Yout feedback will hopefully stop any future downtime

I’ve been told that these problems were due to a missing A entry in the zone file. Everything should be ok now. If you are still having problems accessing the site please let me know
