Twimailer Saves You Time as a Twitter Blogger

There are a number of tools that help consolidate the information that’s coming through your Twitter account. Twimailier is one of the more recent tools that sends you a more comprehensive email alert when you’ve gained a new follower.

The email includes a brief synopsis of your new follower, giving you all the information found in their basic profile. You’ll see the number of followers they have, as well as the number of people they’re following. You’ll also find their bio, their web URL, location, and their user photo. This synopsis also includes their ten most recent tweets. At the bottom of the email alert you’ll find a link to follow them back.

Signing up is simple enough. Register with Twimialer by providing the service your email address. Twimailer gives you a new email address to use within your Twitter account so that Twimailer can parse the information from new followers’ profiles and redirect it back to your email account.

Why is this type of email alert important? It contains much more information than the basic email alert you receive directly from Twitter. Essentially, Twimailer saves you the trouble of actually visiting the Twitter site to see what your new follower is all about, and whether or not they’re a spam account or irrelevant to your own Twitter objectives. Twimailer makes it easier for you to decide who to follow, in a faster more efficient manner, as everything regarding your new followers can be accomplished directly from your email inbox.

As a blogger, being able to remotely manage your Twitter account from a web tool you use daily is a huge time-saver. Tools like Twimailer allow you to better manage your time as well as your Twitter account. Such tools also make it easier for you leverage one Twitter account to build up another, as you can easily begin to follow your new followers from your secondary account.

ReadWriteWeb mentions one drawback to Twimailer, noting the fact that this service is lacking fine print and you can’t be entirely certain as to what Twimailer is doing with your email address.
Another downside for Twimailer and some similar services is the fact that you can only use one of these services at a time. Twimailer and others such as Topify are pretty specific in their feature set, limiting their product to email alerts for your new Twitter followers. But other services like TweetLater combine email alerts with several other features such as @reply digests and custom auto-DMs.
