One of the things I’ve always liked about the blogging community is how quickly they’re willing to step up and help in times of need. Whether it’s organizing disaster relief, calling for the release of political prisoners, or fact-checking election debates, bloggers always seem eager to get involved. For the month of May, there’s a new way we can support the causes we believe in.
Zemanta and Social Innovation Greenhouse @ Weber Shandwick are teaming up to encourage bloggers to promote their favorite charities. Til June 6, dedicate one or more blog posts to your favorite charity. The charities blogged about the most will get a share of the $6,000 donated by these two companies. For full details on how to participate, visit the Blogging For A Cause website.
Don’t have a favorite charity? If you’re a Zemanta user, it can suggest civic causes for you to write about through its Social Actions database.
