Thanks for the interesting post! But it is quite difficult to write ebook, not a blog post or an article with 2000 words. Even if you just combine 10 posts.
I join Mickey with his question about advertising. Could you share experience in this area?

A very interesting and informative article. I’ve read the whole article and I’ve learned so much from this. I like the idea of expanding concept of the popular post, since this is the popular post, many users will be interested about it. I will start to plan about my ebook and perhaps try to start writing. Also, I’ve never realized that ebook distribution is a very good strategy for publicizing sites or blog. Anyway, can you further elaborate about licensing? Thanks in advance. Again a very informative article.

Hi, Amanda:

I just finished writing my first ebook last night. I went to Twitter (as i do every morning) to check my updates, and noticed your awesome post. After reading it, i have a few quick questions for you.

1. How do i add a license to the ebook, do i just add a link to the footer of the ebook referencing the respective license? or how do i do this.

2. I used Google Docs to create my ebook and it allows for active links and converts word doc to PDF, but i don’t think it has a table of contents feature. Will look into this and see for sure.

3. As for distribution – i’m not sure yet what i will use – i will look into Scribd and Cnet.

4. Can you clarify on hosting. I plan to sell via Etsy at first and email a copy of the PDF to buyers. But i also plan to offer a free version to selected peeps. I do have a hosting acct with Dreamhost for my blogs, how do i add my ebook to my host acct?

The ebook i wrote last night, is the first of many to come. I suppose the first is the hardest and then the rest should come easier and faster. I hope. LoL.
