@Debbie I agree. When something's fun, people give it their best. The same goes for blogging too.

Ganesh,
You are so right! For real learning to happen, it's vital to go at your own pace. We all process information in different ways and some learners need more time to just let a new idea or thought digest in their brains in order to really understand and learn. Then others might take a new idea and start experimenting and doing something with it immediately. It really doesn't matter how you learn best, what matter is that you have the curiosity and interest to persist. You'll learn. You'll improve. And if you relax, you'll have fun.

Harish,
It's certainly true that a good firm knowledge of English will help a blogger who wants to communicate with his or her readers in English. However, blogging is also being done in lots of languages. Even if someone wants to ultimately be able to blog in English, he can start by just blogging in his native language. Everything is a learning process. Heck someone could start a blog detailing their experiences in learning English. What resources they are finding useful, mistakes they've made, etc., etc. There are a lot of people who'd want to read a blog about that don't you think?

Also, I would like to suggest we all rid ourselves of ideas like 'blog proper.' That's exactly the sort of thinking that stops a lot of people from just getting out there and trying to learn something new. Lastly, I don't think 'school' is necessary to learn English or any language for that matter. Now everyone, get out there and have some fun learning. :)

Nice one. One more reason why blogging is better than school is that you can learn stuff in blogging at your own pace.

I think this post is going to get a lot of positive comments from young school-going bloggers. :)

Indeed blogging is liberating. It sends you out of the box you are so accustomed with and the conventional way of looking at things. Blogging frees the mind, even grammar and syntax.
