Bring your best.
Get the best results.

That makes sense to me.

And you're spot-on re: titles. They can make all of the difference in the world.

I hope that more people start believing that article marketing is "played out". It will reduce the amount of low-grade content being pumped into the system while increasing the potential of an already-lucrative strategy for those of us who "get" how to do it the right way.

A good writer with good ideas can create articles that WILL get fantastic results. That hasn't changed. The low-lying fruit may be picked over these days, but those with the ability to reach higher are still prospering.

Yes I enjoyed this article very much. The paragraph I quoted in my blog sparked my rant about writing tips, but you are so right about it happening with marketing tips, work at home tips, copywriting tips, etc. I've signed up for plenty of internet marketing tips and strategies as well as writing and copywriting. I'm still trying to find one good tip.

I haven't used article marketing. For one, my blog is still very new and I'd like more content on it before I start promoting it in article directories. Two, when I start article marketing I want the content to relate to my blog but contain more eggs than hash. And that's yet another reason I enjoyed your post here; as a reminder that I want my content to be different.

I have rehashed old writings and tips, but I hope that by my use of examples that I've given the reader a little more to think about than just "write better content". We all know to write good content, content is king, etc. But it seems no one is giving true examples of how to make the writing better. It's the same way with internet marketing. In fact, of all the emails I've subscribed to for marketing, I can't tell you one good tip.

And ebooks. I bet I have a few hundred ebooks I've collected over the years and they all contain the same old hash--no eggs or bacon. The lady expert I mention has one ebook for sale for the low price of $27. Yikes. There's very few hard bound books I'd pay that price for, so I'm especially not paying that for something I can't curl up on the couch with and thumb through its' pages.

Two other points you hit on were titles and readers. I struggle with titles quite often. I try to give my work something catchy or even silly sometimes, but it is difficult to come up with good titles.

Writing for readers and not search engines. That's one of my biggest pet peeves and the main reason I walked away from writing on the web a few years ago. I absolutely hate keyword articles, keyword stuffed hash (and not stuffed with eggs or bacon). I blame Google for this. They created the beast and now they're trying to get it back in its' cage. I'd prefer if we killed the creature all together and just got back to writing useful information.

Thin, played-out material. I've been guilty of that in the past and the main purpose of my website is to improve my writing by getting back to the basic rules of English 101, applying those in my writing and sharing it with other writers so they can improve too.

Very good article Ryan. You hit home with me on several points and reiterated my convictions. Thanks for picking this topic.

At first I was scared that you were going in the opposite direction but i agree with you 100 percent. If used effectively, and effectively being the keyword, it can be a major asset. Be sure to interlink your various articles - it's just an easy tip that goes a long way in improving your blog post's standings.

I've never considered article marketing or looked into it all. I guess I can't justify writing articles for another site when I could just be pumping out content all the time on my blog.

I think if your going to write for another site make it a blog. Guest blog for people. So many blogs have guest bloggers they aren't to hard to find. Just ask, people struggle to consistently produce content.
