The only time you may suffer is if you get Dugg or Slashdotted and either you don't have Super Cache or it isn't able to help enough. @Francis: I was on MT for a long time before I decided to get a VPS with Layered Tech. They are a great company. The only drawback with them is that there is a cost for going over your CPU quota so it's another metric to worry about on top of bandwidth, disk space, etc. @Splendid Kid: Hostgator is fine for most blogs.
