I run a dozen blogger blogs, and have been a blogger bloggie for about 2 years. I came into it because it was easy, free, and seemed to make the most sense.

I suffered for a while after seeing the great tools wordpress had at it's disposal, but I've stuck to the blogger format because I knew the good days were coming. I'm glad to say they're almost here.

I see a lot of good coming for 2009: better social booking marking integration, popularity-based listing of articles, better blogrolling tools, etc.etc. It's an exciting time for us blogger users!

Well, thank you for the information. I "blog" on several sites using Blogger and Wordpress. I like the new Windows Live Writer Beta. But there is a problem that really bugs me with Blogger. So they have "enabled" us to insert a photo in the header. But there are literally thousands of "users" out there asking how to move the photo, move the text of the description and the title, etc. There is one solution for this type of template, another for another template, bla bla bla. Then you have the "dummies" sites from India to Hawaii giving recommended code solutions - most of which don't work. If Blogger is going to offer anything, why for goodness sakes don't they do it right? Don't any of them sit in a room together and know that what they do is confusing as heck to non-programmers? I want to write - I want to blog - NOT waste my time trying this code or that code to get what should be a very simple thing to do - create an appealing header for my blog. What in the world are they thinking?

I just started my blog recently, and chose Blogger because many artists use this pllatform, and I just can't afford web hosting costs because I live on a pension.

It has been a wonderful learning experience. I may migrate to Wordpress someday, but I'm not in a hurry to do so.

Your post was immensely helpful to me, thanks very much and,
A Happy, Healthy, Successful New Year To All.

I started out with Blogger a few years ago. Even though many things have changed, I still stick with the classic template. I find that is has more functionality then the newer ones. I'm curious to see what Google decides to come up with next.

I started on Blogger in early 2005 when I was a blogging neophyte and it served me well for a short while. It's great for beginners. And it's great that Blogger is working hard to institute improvements, but it remains far inferior to WordPress and I would never go back. In my estimation, serious bloggers move up to WordPress -- and stay there.

Good to see some of the new things in blogger. Anytime I used Blogger I felt "unprofessional". It feels like it is better for the "younger" crowd. I've recently gone to WP and like it ok. Hate all the new version updates though. Hmmm maybe it is time to give Blogger another try.

Very good review of what is to come. I enjoy WordPress and what I like even more is that I am finally become quite proficient in it. It is so tempting to switch to the new big thing. It is always
good to know that there are great alternatives for those who are looking for something else though.

Even though the Blogger platform continues to rise in popularity and compatibility, I'm still a big fan of Wordpress because its functionality. Blogger is catching up to wordpress quite quickly, but until it does, I will continue to use wordpress.
