Kevin MuldoonAdmin Drop Down Menu Plugin For WordPress 2.7

The stable release of WordPress 2.7 has been out for 10 days now and the beta versions have been available for much longer. One of the major costmetic changes in 2.7 was the main admin links being moved from the top of the page to the left hand side.

I’ve got used to this new layout however I’m sure many WordPress bloggers still miss the old style. There is no need to fret as PlanetOZH have released an Admin Drop Down Menu plugin which moves all the links to the top of the page.

The plugin has a few customisation options though my favourite is undoubtedly the ability to change the color scheme of the admin area. If you prefer the links in your blog admin area to be at the top of the page, this is the plugin for you :)

Thanks for the mention. I’m sticking with the vertical navigation myself, mainly because I’m a plugin developer and I prefer to use WordPress the way everyone else does, but I’m sure a few prefer the old style.

  3. I love the whole User Interface of wordpress 2.7… Its really cool, and its a lot better than the previous versions of wordpress

  4. I prefer the new vertical menu but it is hard to see sometimes. Can I change the colours of the vertical menu easily enough to make it stand out more??

Thanks for the tip, I didn’t even realize there were admin panel plugins.

  7. That’s wonderful. I like the new version, but if I could make a change the admin panel would be it. Happy Holidays :)

  8. I think I’ll probably stick with the original as well but I can see the attraction for uploading this plugin.
