I think all such sites have a life span. They reach their Zenith in terms of popularity and then slowly begin to decline once something new and better shows up.

I joined when it was new and fresh, but never really got into it to begin with. I didn't really associate its downhill slide with Yahoo, but it makes sense. Coupled with it just being another internet site with huge possibility of failing, it doesn't surprise me that it didn't really keep its momentum.

Yeah, I think it has lost its appeal and popularity. I have stopped using it for all my blogs for some time now. Initially I use it to get traffic and interact with them.

My blog log was one of the first online communities I joined when I started blogging all most a year ago. It has never really slowed down for me… I find that new visitors come by and add me to their contact list daily. I've never really had any complaints about or problems with MyBlogLog.

Mybloglog was the first community that I joined sometime last October and it's already being run by Yahoo. I had no basis of comparison then until I joined Blogcatalog. I find blogcatalog a lot better because they make member interaction easier leading to a tremendous amount of actvity.

I'm exploring Google Friend connect now.

I switched from the widget to the text link merely as a "space" issue; plus I get a lot more followers having the link above the fold.

As for my use of it, I was an AVID user before Yahoo took over. Now, with all their "cool new features" I can't find anything! Navigation (for me at least) is extremely confusing.

For instance, I still can't find anyone (including MBL support) to simplify how to "broadcast" to my community.

And don't even get me started on pages and pages of followers RSS feeds, which I do not want or need!

MyBloglog was the first social site that I join and that was mid of last year. I used to have their widgets on my blogs. But I do not know when Yahoo took control over them.

Anyway, I met fellow bloggers who eventually became my virtual friends. However, I noticed that besides tons of messages pouring on my Inbox, I find it hard to look for bloggers with the same niche.

Unlike BC where I can even start a thread, and blogs are neatly arranged according to category. I am a member of MB but not active anymore.
