I subscribe to and read dozens per week. 98% or more are up and comers with a good readership. "Guru's" are out. They are churning out more and more garbage, because they no longer NEED good content.

I subscribe to more blogs then I have time to read. However I fall into 2 categories.

1. Popular blogs – Seth Godin, Chris Brogan type

2. Entrepreneurship Blogs – this is my industry so I try to stay updated and connected with everything and everyone that is going on.

This method works really well for me I don't think I have the need to add another category. My tip would be at the very least have the "your industry" category. You can only benefit from reading all kinds of views and happenings in your field.

P.S.

Under "filtering the information" 2nd paragraph "organize" is misspelled!

It is better to just focus on several blogs that are really informational rather than reading all sorts of blogs and end up clueless.. (some time ago, I ended up reading as many blogs as possible mostly personal and got nothing out of it)

What can I say? I used to subscribe to more than 30 blogs, but unsubscribe to many of them because I realized they are posting the same thing…lol!

For popular blogs, I subscribe to this blog of course; Problogger, Yaro Starak, Seth Godin, Daniel Scocco, Brian Clark's CopyBlogger, Dosh Dosh, Leo Babauta (Zen Habits and Write to Done), Skelliewag. Also to a few SEO blogs.

Whew! I am flooding with useful tips and inspirational bloggers.
