Abdylas Tynyshov contacted me today about a new a new script he has developed called AdesClrPicker. The script is free to download and is very quick and easy to use, infact, the download file is just over 1mb in size.
So what does the script do? Well, if you are like me then you probably capture colors from your desktop on a regular basis to help you design and edit your blog, logos, screenshots and more. For example, if you see a great color scheme on another website and you want to use it on your blog then what I usually would do is take a screenshot using the ‘Print Screen’ button and then open photoshop, paste the screenshot and then use the eyedropper tool to see what the hexidecimal code is for the color.
The AdesClrPicker script speeds up this whole process. The script gives you a little pencil icon which you can move around any area of your browser. This displays the HTML, RGB, C++, VB and Delphi color codes. If you click on a color it will capture it and you can then scroll around and compare it to other colors.
There are a host of other features too. I’ve only been messing around with it the last hour or so and there are some features I’m sure I haven’t explored enough as yet but I have to say, this is a really handy script. It displays the last 10 colors and you can even zoom in to select the most detailed colors.
On your average day most bloggers will not really have to use this script that much but if you are creating or modifying your blog design or if you add a lot of pictures to your blog and crop them, you will really find this handy. I recommend downloading it and checking it out.

If you use Firefox, Colorzilla might be for you. Very easy to use.

Kevin, Thanks for the mention! Appreciate it.
AlexG, this color picker is a desktop software, so, you can pick colors anywhere on the screen (not limited to within the browser).
This is great. I can’t tell you how frustrated I get sometimes when working on some CSS for my websites without having Photoshop open. Thanks a bunch!!
Awesome tool! Sure beats screen capture, paste into Photoshop, eyedropper to color code.
Is there a Mac version?
SEI, there is no Mac version (yet).
this looks great! I’ve always wanted a way to do this. cheers.
Sean.
It’s looks really useful for mixing colors and stuff – probably better then ColorZilla
I cannot wait for a Mac version to be developed.
Now I can’t live without this color picker! Ades, thanks a lot for such a great tool! It is perfect!
When will we see next version of it?
