Kevin MuldoonText Link Ads publicly launches inLinks

I logged into Text Link Ads tonight and noticed that they have upgraded their design and moved things around a little.

As you can see from the image below, the navigation has been greatly improved.

One of the first things I noticed was that their old tools section has been removed, you know, the page which had the blog juice and text link ad calculator. They had removed the Text Link calculator after all the problems with Google etc so I assume this is why this whole section has been removed. I also noticed that the banners page for the affiliate area is blank but I’m sure this will be fixed in the next few days.

The main new feature can be seen from the main landing page of your account.

The funny thing about this landing page is that the domain they are advertising, WidgetSpot.com, doesn’t even bring up the above image. The domain has been parked so if you visit WidgetSpot.com you’ll see something like this.

The biggest inclusion in this new redesign is the promotion of their inLinks system. Since they launched their inLinks option to publishers, there has been no advertisers section for it on Text Link Ads. Publishers could apply to sell ads via inLinks however the ads were sold privately by TLA so publishers had no idea of how they were marketed. This has now changed. You are now able to go into the inLinks system and browse their database for keywords and more importantly, you now have the option to purchase ads on other websites.

Each site in the inLinks area has an excerpt from the page which displays the keyword so that you can get an idea of what context the keyword is referenced. It also displays the PageRank, Alexa Rank, post date and the monthly price to purchase the keyword. I did a search for a few keywords and I was surprised by the sheer volume of links in their database.

If you click on the Futures tab you will see that you can also purchase text links as a package. Currently you can get :

  • $100: 3 Links with PageRank 4, 1 Link with PageRank 3, 1 Link with PageRank 2
  • $200: 4 Links with PageRank 4, 4 Links with PageRank 3, 2 Link with PageRank 2
  • $300: 1 Links with PageRank 5, 6 Links with PageRank 4, 6 Link with PageRank 3, 1 Link with PageRank 2

I’m not sure what the folks at Google will think of all of us but this definately shows that selling text links for money is still incredibly popular. It will be interesting to see how many more people use their inLinks system now that it’s public. No doubt TLA have an extremely strong userbase for them to actively market it like this.

I still use TLA on a few old websites which I never update so I might try out the inLinks system on them to see if it’s worthwhile. Drop by TLA and let me know what you think about it :)
