Two brief but unrelated stories for everyone
PureBlogging Up For Sale
The popular blogging advice blog PureBlogging is now up for sale at SitePoint. This probably won’t surprise anyone who knew of the site has the owner David Culpepper has contributed less and less in the last few months. However this does continue the tradition of these kind of blogs being sold within a year or so of starting.
In the past these blogs have sold for a good price so best of luck to David and here’s hoping the blog sells for a decent amount
FeedBurner Woes Continue
Since migrating my FeedBurner account to Google last week my feedcount has been a rollercoaster ride going to 0 then back up again and then back to 0. Twice all of my feeds have shown a feedcount of 0.
Here is what the BloggingTips feedcount was in the last week (well, according to Google anyways) :
- August 19th : 2,769 Subscribers
- August 20th : 2,631 Subscribers
- August 21st : 1,863 Subscribers
- August 22nd : 0 Subscribers
- August 23rd : 2,463 Subscribers
- August 24th : 0 Subscribers
- August 25th : 2,455 Subscribers
Clearly Google is having some problems with this but I’m confused why they are because apart from the domain change, everything else seems to be the same in my FeedBurner account. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are tweaking a lot of things in the backend as since migrating my account the FeedCount Plugin which I use to display the number of subscribers at BloggingTips has worked some days while other days it just says N/A.
In my opinion FeedCount is the more important metric for a blog so I hope this is something they sort out soon.
Have any other bloggers migrated their FeedBurner account to Google and had this problem?

I’ve been having problems with Feedburner too since migrating. I love the days that show the reach number but zero subscribers. I also don’t have visitor stats anymore in Feedburner since the migration. Very annoying. I hope in the end the product gets better but right now ughh…
