I talked about how to get blogging confidence and creating your own style of blog posts in my last two posts. If you have mastered both, you should try to take your blog to the next level. You cannot become an authority over night. It takes time, in fact, a lot of time if you are not good in coming up with unique ideas. The first thing you have to aim once you master the skill of creating your own blogging style is to take your blog to the next level.
Next level would mean one step higher. It might be one small step or a giant leap. But make sure you are improving everyday and every month. You should not be the same person whom you were when you started blogging.
You can do so many things to move ahead with your blog. Sit down in a quiet place and write down things you can do to achieve something new with your blog. You should be able to come up with tons of ideas.
For those of you who are asking me to give a few tips ( I can hear you), read below for the ideas I have for you. Almost every idea below will lead you to the path of a status called authority.
1. Create A Product
This may be an e-book or software or whatever. Creating an e-book is a lot easier for many people than creating software. Also an e-book explains your knowledge in the industry more than software in my opinion. If you like writing and have good knowledge, I recommend you to create a valuable e-book in your niche.
2. Sell Your Service
If you think the previous point is a tough job to do or if you don’t have enough time to write an e-book, then consider selling your service which may be consultation or freelance writing or whatever you can think of. Consultation is something you can do only if you are quite a popular person. You don’t have to be extremely well known in the niche else only few bloggers like Darren Rowse can do consulting in the make money online niche. But you do have to be famous to some extent.
3. Write About Something No One Ever Has
This is not going to take much time to think. Head over to the popular blogs in your niche and browse through their archives and check if they have not covered anything. The lesser known blogs would have covered few topics that the popular ones haven’t but still its enough to check at the popular blogs. If you come across post in a moderately famous blog, improvise the idea and make it look unique. Caroline Middlebrook blogged on “Blog commenting” and also got instantly popular. All Credits to her uniqueness.
What have you done before to take your blog one step further? How has it helped you getting popular? Do you have any plans to take one more step further? Please share your views in the comments.
