Tools for publishing blog posts on micro-blogging services

Twitter and other micro-blogging have a huge potential to boost your blog’s traffic. It can be used as a tool for gaining popularity and bringing new users to the site. The most important thing is to make sure that you are active on social media sites and have a decent (relative term) amount of followers/friends/subscribers to take advantage of these joints and get traffic to your blog.

I’ve put together a list of tools that can be used to spread your blogs content on such sites or on Twitter mainly.

This is an easy, simple and straight forward service which works with the feeds to publish to Twitter. Login to TwitterFeeds.com with an Open ID, add your twitter account details and add feeds which will be published on Twitter.

You can also set the frequency of publishing your articles to Twitter. e.g. Every One Hour, Every Day, etc..

Twitter Updater is a Wordpress plugin which connects the blog with your Twitter account. Once installed you an choose to

• Update Twitter when a new post is created (saved but not published)
• Update Twitter when the new post is edited (re-saved but not published)
• Update Twitter when the new post is published
• Update Twitter when the an old post has been edited

• Microblog Updater (WP-Plugin)

Microblog Updater is built on Twitter Updater plugin. In addition to updates on just Twitter this offers updates on more services like Jaiku, Pownce and Tumblr. Microblog Updater also lets you send custom messages to all of these services from within the plugin admin page.
