well mr seo most people are n00bs, since companies want to be found and on top of the search engines :/ But i see ur point… lots of companies like the flash applications because its flashy -_- (no pun intended) and that doesnt help out with your rankings.

In my experience I have found there is a fine line between website functionality and design. Do you want a website that is uber cool with all the latest bells and whistles, or do you want a website that can be found on the search engines?

I always ask my customers this before any project and then warn them of the pitfalls of a site that is too “flashy”. Good SEO begins on paper with the initial site layout and structure not in a sketchbook. For the most part I think people would rather have a more sedate looking site that has great functionality and easy to find on the search engines……. at leas that is my experience.

Thanks for the reminder Salwa. I’m a trying hard web designer and I can say for sure that this is not something that’s learned overnight. My progress is not as fast as I want it to be but I’m still plugging away at it.
