Great post Sarah. Since 2.5 came out I've seen more and more blogs adding gravatar support so I'm sure a lot of people will find this useful.

No problem Banji, glad to know it's all working now :)

Cheers Kevin. I must admit, until I wrote this I hadn't converted over to using the inbuilt tag as the plugin was running fine but I'd rather not use plugins if I don't need to so it gave me a chance to test it out (and then write about it!).

Hi Banji, the blue border is because it's linked. What you can do is add the following to your CSS file on the .avatar class selector

border: 0;

And that will then remove the border.

Thanks Sarah, it work! But another problem which is not related to the gravatar altogether arises. There's a blue border to the image. Usually what I did is to put (style="border:0;") inside img code. However in this gravatar php code, I'm not sure how to do that.

An example of what I want to achieve is just like the ones in this post :) Appreciate the help

Hi Banji, sorry for being a day late! Anyway, the code to link the gravatar (nice idea by the way!) would be to wrap the function within a link and use the comment_author_url() function. ie.

<a href="<?php comment_author_url(); ?>" rel="nofollow"><?php echo get_avatar($comment->comment_author_email, $size = '40', $default = 'http://www.domain.com/images/blank-gravatar.gif' ); ?>

Hope that does the trick for you :)

If only I just wait another day, this tutorial will save me a lot of time researching :). I just activated gravatar yesterday.

I do have one question though, what code should I put in order to make the gravatar link to the author's website (if any). If you have a look at my current setting, it is just an image without any link.

Thank you for your time
