@Missy you’re so right. And that’s why my head continually spins. Before I can get familiar and comfortable with using one type of technology, another one has exploded onthe scene.

I long for the days of rotary telephones and two channels to watch on TV. For all of my freedom-loving ways, when it comes to technology, I’d rather stay in the dark ages. But alas, I must surge forward and stay abreast, lest I lose my way to make a living.

There are loads of techie things bloggers need to learn, from social media marketing to SEO, it can be overwhelming at first. But once this stuff is learned, you’re good to go.

There is always continous learning, im not saying your ever done with learning. The positive thing is there are many resources available for new bloggers to learn the craft. From books to ebooks, and blogs about blogging (such as this one and Problogger.net) there is no shortage of illumination.

@Suzanne: You're welcome; we sound like kindred souls in this area. Boy I long for the good old days of the DOS system. Just type and go. Nothing to do after you finish. Now, I do more AFTER I write an article/post, than before or while writing — tagging, social bookmarking, article directory submission — it's a FT job. But, c'est la vie, no?

Nice article. I would say that experience is the best key to "success". After a few tries with websites and blogs you start understanding what works and what doesn't work. And some times it is just luck.
