I am always annoyed when people are using comment moderation and still require you to fill in the captcha letter on a comment. Only one thing I would disagree with in your recommendations. On my blog, I'm not able to show comments in a pop-up window and also use the comment message. I get a lot of (attempted) comments advertising other sites so I like having a comment message that discourages those types of commenters. I wish I knew how to do both. (I'm using one of the old "classic Blogger" templates, heavily tweaked, so maybe this isn't a problem with the new template options, not sure about that. Good post!
