This is something I would love to do. In fact, I’ve already targeted several niches and registered domain names, but simply don’t have the time to devote to content development.

I keep hoping that things will taper off a bit this summer (it’s suposed to be my slow season, but it hasn’t happened yet) so I can devote to something like this.

I can’t wait to see your progress and wish you much success.

A great idea. I’ve found that you can always identify a couple a “key” posts that at some stage “go viral” and bring in a lot of traffic consistently. On the other hand the effect that fine-tuning URLs, page and category titles has on search engine ranking is difficult to quantify – I end up relying on gut feeling.

Be interesting to see what comes out of it. Good luck and keep us posted!

I love those types of blogs or series of posts which document in real time the data and results of endeavors like this.

I've basically done the same thing with all my sites except I've done it offline. I've got notebooks galore and countless text/excel files all over my computer with all kinds of data.

At one point I was writing down in extremely detailed notes everything I did each day, including what blogs I commented on, what headlines I tweaked, which sites were linking to me, etc. It's been a very long but enlightening journey.

I also agree that you shouldn't reveal your domain and niche.

Thanks for stopping by, Barbara. Something like this will certainly give us a LOT more unique content for our existing sites, which is one of the major reasons I'm going to do it. Are you thinking of starting one of your own as well? I would love to keep an eye on it if you do.
