Almost every bloggers come across this day when he/she has stopped blogging for a few days and back after some long time. In this situation, you have to work really hard to get back your subscribers. Your old subscribers are the most valuable people. You cannot afford to miss them. But due to some unavoidable reason you lose them, you have to work hard to get them back.

Here are three things you can do to get your lost subscribers back:

1. Social Media
Normally, every blogger uses social media sites like stumbleupon, digg etc. Note down the social media sites which you have used and write content which those social media users like. Try to make the post popular in those sites and most of the time you will get back your old readers to the blog. I normally use stumbleupon more and hence I write posts that stumbleupon users like. If your blog gets most traffic from dig, try to write posts that dig users like.

2. Email Subscribers
Feedburner has this option where it will show you the people who have subscriber to your blog using email. These people like your content very much and they will be happy if you are back blogging. Write a mail to these people and tell them you are back blogging. When you write a post, these people will get an update mail. But those who have unsubscribed won’t get. So note down your email subscribers’ email ID and mail them when you are back. Don’t spam their email ID or make it look like a spam. Tell them you have started to blog again. Tell them that you would like to have them at your place again.

3. Comment On Their Blog
Note down your blog’s commentators’ blog. These people who visit your blog and take their time to comment surely like your writing. They would obviously be happy to see you back. Every time a visitor to your blog comments, make sure you write down their blog url somewhere. When you are back blogging, visit these blogs and make valuable comment in their blogs.

Following these three techniques will be well enough to get back at least 50% of your lost subscribers. If you blog is very famous and has many readers, you need not worry because, any post you write will reach many of your lost readers somehow. What methods you use to get your lost subscribers? Have you tried any of these methods? Please share it in the comment.

    Very helpful tips. I agree you. But whenever I get a flood of traffic from SU or Digg, my feed readers don't increase much. But yeah, if it's from Google, then I do see an increase in the traffic.

    @scarface, Hope you will get many subscribers in the near future :)

    @Stanley, Yes they help very much in building relationship

    @Haris, Yeah buddy tech blogs receive lots of google traffic. Normally you won't see much increase in subscriber count when you hit the front page of SU and even if it increases, it will drop the next day

    @seo, Glad you liked it
