3 Reasons Why You Should Write On What Is Hot

Writing posts to the blog and updating it regularly can be made a bit easy if you can catch up with the web and think of post ideas on what is hot on the web. There is so much to write about every trend and with a little thinking about the topic, you can brainstorm 5-10 post ideas. But what are the benefits of writing on what is hot?

1. People Want To Know About It
If you observe the blogs, you will see that more posts are on twitter these days. Twitter is the trend right now. Many blogs have started to write about twitter and the reason is because people love reading about twitter. Right now, there are many people who want to learn about twitter, its benefits, its negative side and so on. If you can write about twitter and update people with information they haven’t heard anywhere before, they are going to become your blog’s subscribers.

2. Social Media Sites Love It
Social media sites are filled with these posts. Again, you have to note that, to succeed in getting your posts popular, they have to be unique and something people cannot find on other blogs. If you saw ReadWriteWeb, they have been writing quite a few posts on twitter and they provide value in their posts. They provide something people cannot read in other blogs. They provide statistics people want to know. And these are the type of posts which will get a lot of love from Social Media Sites. Take a look at the Sphinn’s social media popular category. You will see many posts on twitter. Even StumbleUpon has a lot of hot posts about twitter. These two sites provide quality links to users and twitter is quality for users now.

3. Search Engines Put You In Front
When something is hot, it gets searched more. If you manage to get the front page for few seasonal keywords, you can get a good traffic from the search engines. Many blogs will be writing about the hot trend. So you have to make sure your posts are of good quality. Take a look at the picture above once again. It is a picture which shows the search trend of twitter over the past 12 months. You can see how twitter has become a hot trend now.

Once again I tell you, since there are many blogs writing on hot trends, you need to write good content to stand out from them. Do you write on what is hot? Have you seen an increase in traffic when you do that? Please share it in the comment.

I don’t normally write on what is hot because I never have anything that people already haven’t said. I will be talking about Twitter in an upcoming post, though, and just talk about my thoughts on it.

  2. Will says:

I find that these three tips are extremely useful in blogging. What’s even better, though, is staying ahead of the curve and trying to write about what is going to be hot so that you become the authority.
