You’re a new blogger. You have no capital to invest in advertising your blog. You’re doomed, right?
No, you’re not.
There’s a great way to get traffic to your blog which is not only free, it’s also much more effective long term that advertising.
It’s article marketing.
Article marketing is essentially a free form of advertising, where you write articles of between 300 and 600 words for other bloggers, article directories, and Web sites. All the articles you write for others contain links back to your blog in your “bio”, published at the end of your article.
As your articles are published around the Web, they bring you traffic. This traffic starts as a trickle, and as you keep publishing, the trickle turns into a flood.
Grow Your Blog’s Traffic With Articles Every Day
Using article marketing is very simple, and very effective in increasing the traffic to your blog. It’s a strategy that’s used by many successful bloggers, even those who can afford to advertise. This is because article marketing brings you traffic long term: with advertising, when you stop advertising, the traffic stops.
So in addition to writing content for your blog, commit to writing articles and posting them around the Web. If you spend half an hour a day doing this, your blog will see a steady increase in traffic.
Imagine: if you spend half an hour a day writing one article - in three months you’ll have 100 articles sending you traffic, every day. Article marketing is powerful.
A tip: aim to make your articles at least as good, if not better, than the blog posts you write. Your goal is to have as many copies of your articles disseminated around the Web as possible. So if your articles are useful, you’ll find that they’ll be republished many times, sending you even more traffic.
In blogging, traffic-generation methods come into fashion and then fade. There’s a current fashion for videos, for example. However article marketing has stood the test of time. It was effective a decade ago, and it’s still effective today. Use it, and watch your blog’s traffic increase.

If I make my article better than my blog, wouldn’t people stop by the blog after reading the article and leave disappointed?

Great point Angela.
Article writing can be a great way to draw or direct traffic to specific pages. Having your bio link point to a relevant page on your blog is important to. I think too many people just point to their main index page and leave it at that.
I have been so busy lately creating content for my blogs that I have not done much article publishing. I just added a task to my schedule to write a few articles and get them published.

Hi Angela, thanks for bringing this tip. However, I have been struggling a lot with article marketing. I think the only workable niches in ezinearticles are those which related to health. The others can only attract very few visitors unless your article is listed on Google for a fairly or lowly competitive keyword.

Yes Angela, you’ve explained in right way, if we use our valuable time in writing articles so it will Deliver lots of benifits to our sites and there is much chances to get quality traffics.
but content is king so first if you can analysis some articles and then write articles for your site so it will better, because search engines will always hate to duplicate content and you will stop to getting traffics.
Thanks
Paul

I’ve recently gotten into article marketing and I can personally say that they are a great way to generate traffic. Articles will slow down after a initial surge, but they still seem to generate organic clicks on a daily basis, so that works for me!

Indeed, article marketing can send tons of traffic to a site. However, it requires a great deal of consistency at least in the first few months of promoting a site. Also, it depends on your blog’s niche. There are too saturated niches that even writing everyday for article marketing may not deliver considerable results. It’s a combination of factors really. But if you play your cards right, it can be definitely beneficial.

I will have to say that article marketing is really one effective strategy that can be used in online marketing. I’m a beginner in article marketing yet, simply knowing how this technique works got me interested. With just your writing skill and patience of posting these articles on as many article directories as possible, you can already start generating traffic toward your own website.
