Elaine RamosWho’s Your Blogging Idol?

Written by Elaine Ramos from Good Recruits on April 21, 2008

As a blogger myself, I can’t help but have my own set of “blogging idols” which are my inspiration in terms of being a successful problogger myself. These blogging idols of mine are very far from each other’s topics but the way that they dealt with their blog makes them the success that they are today.

Here are some of my “blogging idols” and why I consider them as such:

a. Darren Rowse of Problogger
What started out as a hobby is now a full time career for Mr. Darren Rowse himself. By aligning himself with one of the established blog network in the blogging world, Darren has indeed embodied the title problogger as he still continued to post in his blog about different ways and helpful tips which would certainly help a lot of wannabe problogger out there. The addition of the problogger job board is also a helpful one too by helping companies/individuals and freelance bloggers to meet and get a chance to be employed/exposed.

b. Deborah Ng of Freelance Writing Jobs
Speaking of blogging gigs, Deborah Ng’s site inspires all moms and bloggers that you could still manage life and blogging especially if you are doing professional blogging gigs. Her tips and leads really makes a reader come back and visit for more. I especially admire her determination to provided leads for blogging gigs everywhere but still maintaining a high quality of standard.

c. Perez Hilton of Perez Hilton
Who can’t resist good ‘ol gossip? Certainly not me hence the habit of visiting this site more than once everyday. His wit, humor and very criticized manner of writing about celebrities makes this celebrity blog outshine all other competition. Adding to the fact that he updates it more than five times a day. That’s what I call regular posting!

Do you have your own personal “blogging idol?”

My blogging idol would have to be either Terry Dean from http://www.terrydean.org or James Brausch from http://www.jamesbrausch.org

    Cheers

Interesting. I’ve never given it any thought as to who my blogging idol might be. Ok I’ve just thought about it and I don’t have one. Not an idol type of guy though I do have to say there are many people who I look to for guidance when it comes to blogging. I think honestly that just idolizing and/or trying to emulate one single person or source will quickly lead to problems.

Hi. I also have never thought about who my blogging idol might be. I have a question: Should I have it? Is it so important?
But in any way I agree that it´s an interesting theme to kommunicate. Go on!
