Many people who want a blog don’t want to go through the hassle of creating one; it’s intimidating. Therefore blog “flipping” - creating blogs with the intention of selling them - has become popular among experienced bloggers.
The blog’s new owner has by-passed the startup stage; he now has an active blog which is (perhaps, unless it’s brand new) already earning an income.
If you enjoy blogging, you can try creating a blog to sell. It’s not for everyone, but if you have the skills, you can create blogs which people want to buy.
Here’s the flipping process in simple steps:
1. Find a blog topic
You can create a blog on any topic you please. However, if you want to sell the blog it’s best to create a blog on a profitable topic - that is, a topic for which there are advertisers, and products to sell.
2. Do keyword research
Your next step is to do some keyword research in your topic. What are the most-searched keywords? Do any have low competition? Choose two or three primary keywords.
3. Buy a domain name
Buy a domain name, preferably including your most important keyword, which is usually the topic of your blog.
4. Create a blog on the domain
Creating a blog on the domain is simple, if you use WordPress or another popular blogging platform. Many hosting companies offer script installs. If your host has CPanel, and Fantastico, you’re good to go.
Search your host’s Help file for “WordPress install” if your host doesn’t offer CPanel. DreamHost call their scripts “One Click Installs”, for example.
5. Write some content
Write a few articles - five or ten will do, and post them to the blog.
6. Customize the blog with plugins
If you’re using WordPress, install your favorite plugins. You can also run some AdSense ads - if your blog’s making income, it will be easier to sell.
7. Offer the blog for sale
There are many sites and forums online at which you can sell your blogs. You can sell newly created blogs, or older blogs which already have a track record and are making an income. SitePoint and DigitalPoint are popular site and blog sales venues.
Good luck!

It is so interesting how blogs have become a virtual piece of real estate. Just like a home the more valuable renovations you make the higher the value of the property. For those that are new to blogging it may be an easier more viable option than starting from scratch especially if you do not have and web page operation experience. The thought of ftp and html makes many people shudder. Great article

I don’t think its too easy to sell a recently created blog. some people even find it difficult to sell their blogs when they are years old and have traffic stream

I think the steps you have listed out are more of a guide to site flipping rather than making a blog for sale. Selling a blog requires more than a domain, a few contents and some traffic.
Site flippers have been using blogging platforms as their tools just because the contents can be managed easily compared to a site built from pure HTML.
