If you’re blogging for your business, whether the business is online or offline, you soon realize that blogging has many benefits. However, blogging takes time, and many businesses don’t have the staff to write a blog so they hire bloggers.
If you enjoy blogging and want to make some extra money, you can offer your blogging services. Here’s how to do it - you can offer your services right on your blog.
1. Create a blogger’s bio - it’s your bloggers’ resume
Edit your About page to include a brief biography - how long you’ve been blogging, and your thoughts about blogging. You can also add some information about your experiences, if they’re relevant to blogging, but don’t include too much information - keep it brief and to the point.
Add a couple of paragraphs about your “blogger for hire” status.
Include a way for prospective hirers to contact you, whether by email, instant messaging, or by phone.
2. Advertise your availability on your blog itself
In addition to advertising your availability on your About page, add a “Hire Me” note in your sidebar, or in your blog’s footer - anywhere it stands out so that people will see it. Link this note to your About page.
3. Advertise on craigslist
Craigslist is free, so write an ad for your blogging services there. You can also try the US Free Ads service, it’s free too, and some bloggers have had good results there.
4. Send out a press release
A press release is a great way to promote your availability, and if you’re prepared to spend a little money, this method of promoting your services is very effective.
5. Check out the out-sourcing sites for blogging gigs
If you’re in a hurry to start blogging for others, visit the out-sourcing sites. There are many of these, and you’ll find new blogging jobs advertised every week.
A tip - on these sites, don’t under-price your services as a way of getting jobs. This is fatal. No one wins. Stick to the fees on which you’ve decided.
So there you have it: use your blogging experience, and blog for others. Not only will you make some extra money, you’ll also get a wider exposure online.

In addition to telling people about yourself on your about me page, i think its also important to list down the blogs you write for. That way, potential clients can not only see the quality of your work on your own blog, they can checkout other blogs you write for to see the quality of your work there too.
Dont list every blog you write for, just the best quality ones, the ones with the most traffic, and most popular blogs. Its kind of like your portfolio.
Great post!

Love this piece of advice most of all: “A tip - on these sites, don’t under-price your services as a way of getting jobs. This is fatal. No one wins. Stick to the fees on which you’ve decided.”
Many forget the time involved in blogging. I sometimes hate to update my own blog and I know it’s ins and outs intimately. When you’re blogging for pay, it has to be professional — which usually means putting in some time. When you freelance time = money.
Good, real-world advice.
