If they just searched SEO and found this ranking first, they might instead be seeking information on SEO services or even just a basic definition of SEO.
The long tail is also a nice way to build traffic for newer blogs. Long tail keyword phrases have a lot less competition, so it’s much easier to rank well in search engines and build a following.
