Elaine RamosAre You Blogging the Wrong Way?

Written by Elaine Ramos from Good Recruits

So, you were able to post more than three times a day but based on your blog statistics, your subscriber feed is down to a grand total of one. If you find yourself with this kind of situation then you better re-think about the strategies you have when blogging. Here are some prime examples on how to blog “the right way”:

a. Think of quality – Though an updated blog sounds very good, make sure that you put some quality into your blogging style. This means that presenting the facts and not even commenting on it is a very poor way to establish yourself as a blogger. Make sure that your blog represents your own regardless if you disagree or not in that certain topic.

b. Me, me and me – Yes, blogging is all about you but it does not mean that you have to alienate your readers in the process. Most of them prefer a two-way relationship meaning that you have to talk to them and respond to what they are saying. Just thinking about yourself would not get you anywhere. A conversational type of blogging is preferred as opposed to just narrating.

c. Inject humor – Blogging does not need to have a dry spell in terms of blogging because injecting humor could lighten up a topic thus making it more interesting. This also shows your talent in blogging which shows that you are witty and an interesting one.

These are just some of my suggestions which could more or less pave the way for bloggers everywhere to be in the right way. So, tell me, are you blogging the wrong way?

    Elaine,
Great post. #1 was definitely the biggest step in turning around my blogging style. It helps to realize that simply being a “repeater” provides no added benefit to your readers. Thanks for the refresh!!

You are correct, I always hope to find a little of the author’s personality in the article. Who is this guy/gal whose work I am reading? A little controversy every now and then also seems to help. I might be wrong but that is what I look for in a story.
