Good day!

I definitely agree with your advice in this post. Not all directories will drive good traffic to one's site.

I'd like to add that writing articles for directory listing should not only be viewed as a traffic-generating method or an income-earning opportunity, more than that, the writer must be passionate about his work in order for him to write good articles...and yes, rank high in the seo!

Great tips! Going to try these out. Very original - I especially like the one about the free promotional e-book.

Hi,

You include some great and unique advice here for using articles to promote online.

I agree submitting to only the very best directories is a good idea, especially if time (it takes to make those submissions) is a factor, and indeed I created a resource page of article directories listed in order of Google PR for that very reason. I figured Google Page rank is a decent indication of each site's traffic and frequency of search engine spidering.

But along with the highest ranked sites, I'd also submit to any niche directories that feature articles of the same theme as whatever article you're looking to submit. And I made a separate section of my resource page to show niche specific directories too.

Having inbound links to your site from websites of the same genre is looked upon favorably by the SEs, and will also ensure your article gets in front of particularly targeted eyeballs - whether they are potential customers for whatever service or product you might be promoting via your article, or for website, blog, or newsletter owners who are looking for articles to send out to their own (targeted) audience.

I made my name here a link to my resource page in case you or any of your readers want to utilize it when seeking to submit articles to relevant directories.

Hope it helps!
