Mani Karthik10 ways to increase your blogging productivity

Written by Mani Karthik from Daily SEO Blog on January 9, 2008

There is no secret to successful blogging. It’s all hard work and patience that finally pays off. It’s very easy to get bored blogging, especially if you are writing on a very narrow subject. Let me share with you some factors I found interesting that will increase your productivity while at blogging.

  1. Stay updated with feeds
Subscribing to feeds of related websites is a good way to make sure that you don’t run out of ideas. Every blog has a feed these days, so grab it and benefit. It may sound silly at one time, but when later you are bored and out of ideas, just go through your RSS reader and you’ll be amazed to see that that silly exercise you did has come out fruitful after all. Subscribe to a variety of feeds from different topics, the more the better. Staying updated with feeds is an easy way to increase your productivity.
  2. Don’t repeat, look for diversities
One mistake many of us do is to keep repeating things and not breaking out of your shell. We get disappointed when we are running out of ideas. Well, it’s a fact that nobody can write endlesssly on a topic, there must be newer threads found. Even the most religious blogger will run out of ideas if he doesn’t open himself to changes and newer ideas. So be open and look for diversities in what you do, the opportunities are endless.
  3. Participate in discussions
All of us are intelligent. We know it. But how often do we indulge in discussions and forums? Intelligent is not the guy who rarely speaks out, but the guy who speaks out whatever little he has and share it with others. So no matter how naturally intelligent you are, unless you indulge in discussion with others and communicate, you’re going to remain the way you are for ever. You don’t evolve.
So indulge in discussions, sometimes more than you it’s others who can ignite that spark in you.
  4. Challenge the possibilities
If you are content with what you are doing and is satisfied with it, it’s very likely that you’ll be overthrown by clever guy some day. Find possibilities challenge them and work towards achieving them. It may give you a hard time in the start, but down the line, one day you’ll be a more smart and capable person.
  5. Indulge in self improvement
Seems like a boring topic eh? Let me explain. You have a blog aright, but how often do you indulge in improving it. Probably run tweaks and do hacks at it? If the answer is yes, you are a person who believes in self improvement and is on the constant lookout for making a new you out of your old self. Just the right kind of attitude for a blogger to keep him updated and successful.

Having said all that, remember success is sweet, but it’s like wine. The more the hard work and more the time spent on research, the better the results. Short cuts are easy and smart work has it’s charm, but remember that they only last a day or two.

This is a really nice blog to read. I have read a lot of other places who strongly promote niche blogs. Honestly, I prefer a more broad blog with at least three topics. Imagine, who are going to read how to make money on line every day!
