Ah! It’s New Year and boy, I’m excited! A fresh breath of air, it promises new ventures, new ideas, new partnerships and a whole new experience. I’m sure just like 2007, 2008 is going to be a very eventful year for bloggers. So, wishing you all a very happy and exciting new year ahead, let’s see what happened last week here on the blogosphere.

Karen, at Google’s official blog has posted last years summary of blogging at Google Official Blog. It also has statistics and numbers. You can see some interesting ones there.

The AdSense team announced their new tool, Newbies Central, intended for newbies as the name suggests, to help them get started with AdSense. They also have a look back post at 2007.

Didi you notice? There was no activity what so ever on the MSN Live blog, no not even a happy new year wish. Guys, wake up!

Seems like it’s not happy news always at the blogosphere. Stephen Spencer had his blog attacked by some sick hacker, and he is continuing to do so despite attempts from Stephen to beat him, just because the hacker could not agree to some comments Stephen made at a presentation at the PubCon. Any security experts out there for some help?

Darren has an interesting post on hiring people to write for you.
Nate Whitehill has a good post where he’s collected opinions of top bloggers about their plans in 2008.

Jon writes an interesting post on why he is (and not) ashamed to work on christmas. Good read, this one. John has an interesting post listing down all the best of his posts in 2007.

Yvonne writes an impressive article on how 2008 is going to be for mommy bloggers and marketers. Amit meanwhile, wrote a very intersting article on the different uses of cell phones. Included are some ideas you never thought of.

For all you directory freaks out there, Gobala has a list of almost 600 free blog directories you can submit your blog to. It should keep you busy for some time.

How to unleash the productivity beast is a wonderful post by Ritu at Freelance folder. A must read for all those who are stuck not being able to make the best of their potential.

Thanks for the mention, and yep 600+ directories will take up all your time. Quite honestly I recommend you pay someone else to do it. You can get SEO companies from India to do this for you for a very competitive price.
