Your view Keith, is not exactly the same as my view. As I'm a new blogger, I make a post of every achievement. If that achievement is hitting the front page of a social media site, then so be it. So if I ever hit a frontpage, it will be mentioned on my blog. Where we do share the same view is; You shouldn't be egoistic and let it get to your head. Just write as you've always written.
