Wordpress plugins and themes for the week
PLUGINS
- Digg Protector
As the name suggests this plugin claims to protect your site from the Digg Effect.
Well, what it does actually is provide an alternate source(remotely hosted) for images for visitors from DIgg thereby saving on the bandwidth. We haven’t tried it, but if everything works well, it’s going to be a blessing for those guys who are planning to submit their stories to Digg. Well, that makes it all of us right?
- RSS feed in posts
This plugin helps you to insert an RSS feed right into your posts. Cool huh?
- Social Bookmarks dropdown
A simple wordpress plugin that will show all the selected social bookmarking buttons in a drop down menu. Great one for those users who wish to unclutter their posts with those buttons.
- Rich Comments
This one is for those fun loving guys out there who want to make their commenting experience truly remarkable. It helps you to add youtube videos and other medias along with your comments. Wonder how your comments will look like with everybody injecting a video, but it’s fun.
- Fancy Archives
This plugin uses javascript to make an attractive archives list on your sidebar that’s collapsible by year or month. No javascript? No problem you still have the old style archives.
THEMES
- Stylish Vector
Awesome design – there’s nothing more I can say. For all those guys who want that kickass design, go for this one.
- Tenaj stylish theme
This one too is a great looking theme with some cool styling.
- Oceanic
This is a very artistic looking theme with a cool header. Two column template, and all the normal features. The header stands out!
- Godfrey
Yet again a stylish looking yet professional theme with read header and custom content area designs.
- Henrietta
This one is a cool theme that is easily misunderstood. It has a extensible header that hides/unhides a whole subset of menus beneath it while maintaining a clean code. Stylish it is!

“till shave the old style” ?
This is what is referred to as a spoonerism.
Thanks for including my plugin!
Danny, thanks for spotting that typo. I’ve fixed it.
Hi Danny & All -
Hey… those were some great picks. I even found some I wasn’t aware of (and I’m kind of a plugin fanatic). Thanks. I have a list of my top ten plugins at WebMaster-Talk, so if you’d like to stop by and take the poll… here’s the address:
