A week in blogging – Nov 16th – 22nd

Whoa! Another busy week passed by and it seems like the fun never ends at the blogosphere.

The major news everyone talked about is the sales of a few established websites for some nice round numbers. CashQuests, which was sold for 15k was talked about by Kevin, Mark, me and many others. The sale was quite interesting and Kumiko, the owner of the blog have not responded to emails or not said a word about it.

5xmom followed pursuit and managed to get some reviews done, but the blog has not been sold yet. Mark pointed some very interesting points on why he thinks the blogs are being sold and Kevin made a very insightful post on the current trend.

Michael wrote a great post on – Why blogging is like being Britney. The article gets interesting towards the end and the last few lines…surprise! Kyle Healey wrote an amazing article on the types of Social Media Optimization users. Find out which one are you in. The post is worth a read. Marco Richter came up with a great idea to rank the top 50 blogs in the blogosphere about blogging, and here are the results. Although, the top slots are occupied by the usual toppers, the ranks are interesting since it does not take into account Google Page Rank, but feedburner count. The ranks automatically update as the metrics change. Did you find BT? We are somewhere at the top. Not bad for a young blog eh?
Maki from DoshDosh is running a flagship blog challenge, where he’s trying to create multiple blogs in 30 day cycles. She’s looking for support, so you may want to plunge in. On Money Making has a great post on – Lessons bloggers should adopt from Forrest Gump the movie to become rich. They’re called “Gumpisms”.

Last week a brand new cool web 2.0  widget had been launched called Lijit, which is a search tool for your blog. The USP is that it searches your social medias and all your connections in it. Pretty impressive tool !

That should pretty much round up the interesting happenings at the blogosphere last week. Let’s wait for the next. Meanwhile, happy thanks giving!
