It seems like there’s no stopping the latest trend of bloggers putting their blogs up for sale. Perhaps this is due to blogging fatigue or perhaps it’s a combination of Google updating their PageRank and bloggers being encouraged by the high price which 6 month old blogs are selling for.
One mans goal sold for $8,500, Shylock Blogging went for $4,000, Blogging Fingers went for $6,000 and Blog Oh Blog was sold for a whopping $10,000!
This morning I noticed that Cash Quests is now up for sale at SitePoint with a minimum bid of $7,000 and a ‘buy it now’ of $15,000.
Cash Quests, formerly Kumiko’s Cash Quests, has been online for close to a year now and in that time has grown from a blogger based blog to a wordpress powered blog with it’s own domain and close to a thousand subscribers. Through text link sales, banner ad sales and paid reviews the site is managing to make around $1,000 a month so $7,000 is not a bad price.
I’m not sure of the reason why Kumiko is selling the blog however I wish her all the best with the sale and I have no doubt we will see her around the blogosphere in some context in the future ![]()

Interesting development, but not totally shocking. Lots of blogs are being sold off these days. I'm sure it will draw a pretty penny.
I think that the ease at which these blogs are selling is encouraging more bloggers to consider selling theirs. I agree, I definately think this will sell for a decent price..should reach 10 grand at least
just checked sitepoint
Someone has bid the $15,000 'buy it now' already!
geez that was quick!
That's interesting Kevin…well paid off isn't it?
I think its no longer owned by kumiko. She has already sold it off privately mostly.
TheAnand – I read those rumours as well. I'm not sure if there are true or not but I know that all references to Kumiko and to her identity etc was removed from the blog sometime ago.
Just to clarify
Shylock Blogging wasn't sold in the end. I had a bid at BIN price but the deal didn't go through and I decided to keep it.
Alexandru – Oh I thought it was a done deal. Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who frequent the sitepoint marketplace who arent exactly 100% reliable.
Also, I can even goto the extent that the people behind this site are the same people behind johncow…their writing styles match so much. Well, personal ramblings of mine…lol
