I posted in my personal blog this morning about the number of subscribers being significantly lower today at Blogging Tips. The number of subscribers at Blogging Tips was 1079 yesterday and today it’s sitting at 538. My initial thoughts were that either my server was down yesterday or that Feedburner stats are incorrect. Since I know my server was not down yesterday I assumed that it was a glitch and it would be resolved in the next few days.
Darren Rowse has just confirmed my assumption that there is a glitch with Feedburner today. It seems that Google Feedfetcher’ stats are not being counted today and according to Feedburner they have accounted for 46% of my subscribers in the last 7 days.
So bottom line, if your feedburner stats have dropped considerably today, don’t worry too much as they should be back to normal in a day or so.
Thanks to Darren Rowse for figuring this out so quickly.

As everyone is saying RSS is the new page rank, RSS gets its own problems…
BTW, I like what you have done with the comment field. Gives people an incentive to use real name and also people get to see our site name. Great idea.
My thoughts are that feedburner actually got better today. There's been a lot of scepticism around whether their tracking system tracks the ips of visitors correctly, and it seems as though either a few people have dropped, or they've fixed that problem.
Probably if there was a real major bug the number would either be too large or too small…
60% off over @ http://www.askTheADmin.com – its like a fire sale over here! Sheeesh!
What ever it was that happened, it's disappointing.
King of lowered my self esteem a bit there.
Yes it did decrease… to half of the number..
