Kevin MuldoonBlogging News Roundup - November 1st 2007

Here’s a roundup of the latest blogging related news this week :)

I have a good Izea

This morning, Darren Rowse was one of the first to post the news that PayPerPost Inc has changed it’s name to IZEA. The site is really just a place for the company to list all of their main websites like Pay Per Post and Blogger’s Choice Awards but it’s also a place to attract investors.

You can read more about this name change here.

BlogRush Phase 2

BlogRush has recently improved its control panel for it’s publishers. There are more stats and they have sorted out a few of the problems however for me, BlogRush remains a very bad service for bloggers and I wouldn’t recommend any blogger to use them as the traffic you get in return is incredibly low. You can check out the official video from BlogRush which details the changes here.

For further reading I recommend checking out John Chow’s post about his stats and the first impressions of phase 2 over at ProBlogger.

AdSense Integrated with FeedBurner Site Ads

Yesterday Feedburner announced that Google AdSense has been integrated with FeedBurner Site Ads.

I actually thought this was going to happen. No, I didn’t see a press release about this before anyone else! However, when I checked my Feedburner account a week or so ago and clicked on the Monetize tab I didnt get the usual message which told me that my blog wasn’t ready. Instead, it said something about Google syndicated ads and that it would be updated soon (or to that effect) so I suspected they were going to change something.

So what does this change mean? Well, it means that you can now place adsense ads in your blog’s feed. All you need to do is activate the service on Feedburner and then input your google adsense details (email address and postcode / phone number). You will then get a verification link sent to you via email and once you have clicked on that your accounts will be integrated and you can decide how the ads will be displayed. You can change the colours of the ads just like in adsense and you can place the ads on your blog as well as your feed. Although adsense isn’t a great money maker for most bloggers, it’s always good to see more methods to increase your income.

You can check out the full announcement from Feedburner regarding this here.
