Bloggers Unite - Blog Action DayI posted in August about the Blog Action Day campaign where thousands of blogs agreed to post today about the environment.

I am the first to admit that I am not the most concious person in the world when it comes to the environment. My blog recently underwent a makeover, which was designed to enhance the amount of advertisement space on the pages, much like several of the “A” list bloggers have done lately. I was interested in finding out if maximizing ad space would actually increase revenue, if you don’t have monthly advertisers. If you do have paid advertisers it is pretty much a given.

I had a couple of interesting experiences with contests recently. One, was a success while the other was mildly disappointing.

question markGot links? Obviously, a large part of SEO involves getting backlinks. We all want and need sites to link to our blogs. Ideally, those backlinks are natural and freely given, and the best way to obtain those types of backlinks is with attractive, highly linkable content. Of course there are lots of ways to create attractive content, but one of the best is with interactive content.

Interactive content encourages the reader to do something beyond passive reading. The two types of interactive content that immediately come to mind are polls and…

I often get confused while writing posts as whether to write for humans or engines?
Often..very often, I end up writing for humans but I think that is not the best way to go about it.

What does writing for humans mean?

What I mean by “writing for humans” is writing in an appealing way, provoking readers, making them think and aligning parallel in the thinking process with them.

If you read my blog, many of the posts there are about how SEO tips can increase traffic to your blog. And every single time,…
