Up to Date Blogging

Posted by on 22nd Oct 2007 Blogging 4 comments

Due to the emergence of hundreds of blogs everyday, it is very hard to keep up with the competition. In this blog post, I would be giving you some simple yet helpful tips that would somehow help you in the blogging world.

Here are some tips in keeping your blog “up to date”:
a. Have a regular schedule – Updating your blog twice or even once a day for 5 days is much better as compared to updating it only twice a week yet having more than 5 posts in it. Readers would really appreciate “regularity” as opposed to just waiting for you to update your blog in a not so predictable manner.

b. News, news, news – I’ve said it before and I am going to say it again, current events plays a large part in blogging especially if the news is a very hot topic which could spurn brand new ideas or even a discussion. Just a brief mention of the news and your own opinion could go a long way.

c. Additional items – These additional items could be an eye-catching picture, a comic strip or even a video which could add spice to your blog posts. Of course, the blog posts which comes along with it should be related so that readers would be able to see that you really exert effort in your blog and also to be entertained.

These are some techniques I use in my blogs because I really want it to be up to date. Do you have a different approach in keeping your blog up to date? Feel free to add!

The trend that is going on out there is that when aomeone in authority posted some news, it will be seen as a big news and most of the smaller bloggers will blog about that. The sneezing effect can either bring in traffic or either make readers turn away because of the repetition.

Current events is a good move provided that you don't sound too bland or boring. Having a new uptake with delivering news would give you an advantage
