Elaine RamosOverlooked Things in Blogging

Written by Elaine Ramos from Good Recruits on September 10, 2007

Due to the popularity of blogging, some bloggers are overlooking some important details that are still considered as important factors when blogging.

Here are some of the things which I considered as often “overlooked” when blogging:

Spell Check - How simple is it to just check the spelling of your blog post? You might not realize it but having several words which are constantly mispelled would reflect badly to you as a blogger or writer. A simple spell check would do the trick which would eradicate mispelled words as well as grammar lapses.

Images - Most bloggers do not include images in their blog post which should not be the case. Having images in a blog could increase traffic in a blog as well as making it more interesting to read. If you don’t have any camera, there are a a lot of free picture sites that only needs acknowledgement when using them in your blog.

Acknowledgement - Giving thanks and recognition is very important in the world of blogging. Linking back is a very important thing and could actually produce wonderful results. If you are tired of placing comments to blogs, linking back is a good alternative.

Do you have anything that you want to add? Please do

Don’t be overzealous on the spell checking, misspellings can bring in traffic.

Add text on images and use graphs.

I agree with all your points.. but it is weird when someone recommends using an image and doesn’t use one themselves. True points though.

I know that this would come up  The problem here is that I could not find any appropriate picture for this blog post.

Rest assured that I would do so in the future.

sorry, i don’t agree that adding a image can increase the traffic.

At least there is a chance that someone is searching images on google will find you. Therefore, I think adding a image can really increase the traffic.

I think that bloggers definitely don’t use images enough. I try to incorporate them into every post that I write. Images make a post and a blog memorable.
