Mani KarthikThink like a visitor, make your blog friendlier

Many a times or rather always, when one writes articles on his blog, he writes them from the administrator’s point of view. Many likes to think he’s the orator and there are millions gathered up impatiently to listen to him. I’ve heard some guys even wears the admin cap. Whew!

How much of this is true to you? Do you always see things and delivers it from the “speakers” point of view? Well, some completely do, while some agree that they’ve tried to stick to the reader’s side.

From what I understand from the popular bloggers, it’s always good to stand by the reader’s side and write from his perspective. And if you think it’s difficult being so, you are mistaken. When you read other’s blogs, haven’t you wished if he wrote in your perspective? At least, if he stopped preaching and wrote in simple easy to understand layman’s language? Well many a times I have. It must be easy for one to switch to this perspective(readers) and write from that point of view. Honestly, It helps me a lot when I’m guest blogging. When I’m aware that I’m writing on another blog, I switch to the reader’s side and write from their point of view rather than the admins (which I’m not). I hope I had written with the same vigor and life on my own blog. Things would have been more “readbale” there.

What I’m trying to say is – When all of us write on our own blogs, we tend to be admins and pro-bloggers ourselves, preaching things, do’s and don’ts, what you ought to do, 101 steps to happy life etc.

But hey, take a step back and see it from the readers side. Wouldn’t he be reading your article with that frown on his face, if you were too preachy about making million dollars online in 10 days, while actually you have just cents in your Adsense account?

Although, it’s tough to stick to , make a habit of seeing things from the reader’s side, be humble and straight forward in your thoughts and articles. Nobody likes fake faces. I don’t. Do you?
