Poor you. Must be tired posting articles all through the week right? Well I don’t know about you, but I am. My fingers are tired blogging. Let’s unwind this weekend with some clean up work on the blog.
- Clear unused plugins
Have you got unused/unactivated plugins on your blog? Just have check at the plugins page and note all those “error ful” plugins that you had tried but did not use ultimately. Go to the FTP manager and delete those respective files/ directories. So much junk cleared! I had four of such plugins, that either gave me error pages or simply didn’t give the expected result. - Clearing Akismet spam
I’ve seen some bloggers brag about it. I have 2434 spams caught so far, i have 432 spams caught so far blah blah blah ! Well, it’s only spam isn’t it? Grow up kid. Clear those akismet spams from your blog. Go to the dashboard,Comments > Akismet spam, select all and delete. Or do you really like going through those chemical names? - Reply to your commenters
Oh! Have you been busy building traffic and links to your blog all these days? Forgot to thank your commenters? Know what? The most busy bloggers do reply to their comments - every day. Check out Darren’s or Lorelle’s blog. So..Where do you stand? Reply or not? - Add or update some plugins
There are some cool plugin updates on WP every now and then. Check out the plugin repository and find a realy good one sand install it. If you don’t find one, check for updates on your already installed ones. - Template tweaks
Do some minor tweaks on your blog, like changing the feedburner icon, changing the bg colour of your sidebar, matching it to adsense code and the like. Minor tweaks are always welcome and readers see it as a sign of improvement. Overdoing it although, may spoil the show.
Have you got any other ideas to do on a weekend (to your blog)? Let us know please.

Replying to commentators is something I try and keep on top of, it’s important to build a relationship with your readers.
Template tweaks - Something I haven’t done in a while but something I may do in the future. When I’m happy with a design I tend to tweak it a lot less but it’s still good to go back to the code from time to time and familiarize yourself with it

since weekend traffic is usually slower, it’s a good time to take a break and tweak your blog a little.

Yeah - I think weekends are te right time to do the tweaking stuff. That point will get away with the max marks.

There shouldn’t be much of this to do - it should all be done as you blog, not left to build up!!
